How do I estimate the costs?
You should have a budget available for materials and craftsmanship. The specifics of each project will vary. Every client receives a written proposal outlining the details of the work to be done and materials to be used. This proposal is part of the project contract.
What are the different phases of a project?
There are a number of steps to a successful and enjoyable remodeling project. Marvelous Home Makeovers, LLC generally follows a process successfully tested with many clients.
Do I need architectural plans?
For major upgrades and expansions architectural plans may be needed.
Will I need a construction permit?
Each municipality has specific rules for construction projects. As part of our process, we research the necessary guidelines and comply by obtaining all necessary permits prior to commencing work. If needed, final inspection and full compliance is arranged with a city inspector or a licensed technician.
How will my home and family be impacted by the project?
We take care to protect all non-construction areas of the house by erecting protection screens that eliminate dust contamination and spread of building materials throughout the house. Any special requests can be discussed up front and accommodated accordingly.
What is the expected timeframe for a project?
Most projects are completed within a few weeks. The overall project length is dependent on many variables, such as permit issuance, materials availability, custom ordered components, weather, inspections, etc. Our aim is to minimize the impact on your home both from a physical standpoint and the time it takes to complete a project. You will be kept up to date regarding all scheduling and timeline expectations.
How can I trust you, or another contractor?
Don't ask us, check with our past clients. Our business is built on solely on client trust and referrals. We'd be glad to provide you with references.
Will you be the general contractor and outsource all of the work?
To ensure our high standards of quality, our team consists of craftsmen that can directly complete most necessary work. Only in highly specialized circumstances do we bring in additional subcontractors.
When are you available to start on my project?
Scheduling depends on our current project engagements and the scope of your project, materials availability, etc. While we want to finish every project promptly, we will not compromise our high standards of quality. It costs more to fix something that to do it the right way the first time around. Quality work also ensures happy clients and more referrals for us in the future.
