Botond has completed several projects for my wife and me. In every instance, he and his crew made wonderful improvements to our home. But this last project—our master bath—tops them all. My wife calls our new bathroom our oasis. She’s right! He has the ability to take the best parts of the owner’s ideas, make them better, and bring them to life. And this bathroom project reflects that gift. His slogan says it best: You dream it; he’ll do it! He has done it for us, time and again.

This project is the winner of the 2012 NARI Contractor of the Year Awards - Residential Bath $30,000-$60,000. This project also received the GREEN recognition.

During our initial meeting, the client presented us with a picture of a tranquil beach scene. This beach scene was the inspiration of this bathroom transformation. In addition to transforming the feel of the bathroom, the client requested an update that made the bathroom more functional, had better flow, and allowed for more natural light while maintaining the existing footprint.

This project is the winner of the 2012 NARI Greater Dallas Contractor of the Year Awards.

The client requested a kitchen that blended with the warm modern feel of the rest of the house, provided a good place to entertain friends, allowed more workspace and storage space.

From dated to warm and elegant

Although this bathroom was large in terms of square footage, the bathroom was poorly configured and did not utilize the space well or give the impression of the bathroom’s true size. The client requested a warm spa feel so Marvelous Home Makeovers selected materials that would create the feel of a luxurious spa environment. Everything in the bathroom was ripped out and started from scratch reconfiguring the space.

We contacted Marvelous Home Makeovers with apprehension based on our past experiences with other contractors. We immediately felt a difference during the initial interview when Botond listened intently to our plans and offered thoughtful and constructive suggestions to meet our goals. He left us with a hopeful heart that we may have found someone that understood what we wanted and could deliver what was promised. Botond was on target with his start date, reliable and honest. Stress of a long day soaked away...

The client requested a relaxing retreat. The request was satisfied by installing a comfy cast-iron claw-foot tub. The shower footprint was expanded and body sprays were installed. The sprays were installed to suite the clients’ height so they could have optimal relaxation while in the shower. Marble flooring was laid and it reflects the changing daylight differently as the day goes on lending to a space with life rather than a cold bathroom. The ceiling space was opened by removing the fur-downs. We were able to save the money by using the existing vanity cabinets.

Kitchen Revival

I used Marvelous Home Makeovers to remodel half of my house; the kitchen, laundry room, dining room, master bath and guest bath. I had an amazing experience. Botond was onsite the whole time working along with his team. He didn’t give directions and leave and come back later to see how it was progressing. He did the work. They were exactly on time - everyday - and were courteous, helpful and did a great job picking up when they left for the day. Everything went according to budget, no overages or surprises.

New kitchen while keeping the existing layout

This kitchen was aged, outdated and builder's stock boring. Our team was able to transform the space while maintaining the same layout. The cabinets were refinished to have a dark coffee stain which freshened the look of the kitchen right away. Marble counter tops were installed with accented marble tile back splash. The vinyl flooring was replaced with porcelain tiles which were then carried through to the dining room and utility room floors. New stainless steel appliances were installed.

This is the second house that we have remodeled with Botond's help and we would not have purchased it without knowing we had someone like him to help us realize our vision. We had not yet closed on the house before he met with us to discuss our plans and ideas. He understood what we wanted to achieve immediately and provided great ideas and feedback. Botond is more than our contractor. He is our consultant, designer, master craftsman and friend. We will continue to call on him for our future projects and recommend his services to others.

From old brick columns to a contemporary warm feel

This 5-bedroom, 4-bath, 3,200 square-foot house was extensively updated. The house was updated from exposed brick, Mexican tile, and sunken floor to a modern living space. Brick columns were wrapped in sheetrock to provide a smooth texture.

Walls were moved to accommodate new spacious layout, porcelain tile flooring and engineered hardwood floor was added throughout the house for a contemporary feel. The living room and dining room shares a custom stonework fireplace.

We chose Marvelous Home Makeovers to add on to our master bedroom, add a huge screened porch, and replace all the siding on our house. What a fantastic job! My screened porch is my favorite room in my house! Botond beautifully incorporated my antique stained glass piece and my vintage screen door. Our remodeling experience was very positive, and my husband and I were both very impressed with the quality of Botond’s work, his work ethic, and his commitment to doing what he says he’s going to do. Privacy with an airy feel

This project was unique and diverse. The client requested an expansion of the existing bedroom that would incorporate a newly designed walk-in master closet, sitting area, and a screened-in porch extending into the back yard. While the plans were drawn and proper permits issued by the city, a large tree removal was coordinated. The space was needed for the extension and at the same time other trees in the back yard were preserved to provide pleasant shade.

Pronounced colors give way to enlarged travertine relaxation

This dated bathroom was constructed in the 1970's and as a result featured limited space and multiple layers of paint on the walls. To add space within the limits of the bathroom's walls, the shower was reconfigured with a raised ceiling, a corner seat, and a toiletry nook. The interior was finished with a travertine natural stone tile and enclosed with frameless glass door to create an open feel.

Zen Oasis

I'm not a very creative person but I knew how I wanted the bathroom to feel. I described the "zen" feeling I wanted and Botond  translated it into the design and textures that were perfect. He  respected my budget of time and money and did not try to sell me on  more or have to extend the time line. The work Marvelous Home  Makeovers did was amazing. I love to show it to anyone that comes  over. It makes me feel like I am in a calming luxury hotel bathroom.  The small details, such as cutting the tile for the shower floor to be  smaller brick work pattern than the floor, are what ultimately set  Marvelous Home Makeovers apart. These are details many people may not notice if they are missing, but these details are what take the project from being nice, to amazing.

Full-body relaxation in the zen oasis

While the client described a “relaxing zen oasis”, there were no specific design ideas. The space was relatively small and so was the budget. The feel from the design phase was captured through a brushed glass vessel sink sitting atop Santa Cecilia granite counters. The mirrors are custom framed using additional wood from the cabinets.
